Creative Ways to Make Your Soap
Are you an avid soap making fan? Are you just a beginner who's having a hard time with making soap? Or are you the more experienced type but is having problems with thinking of ways to come up with new designs? Then here are some tips and tricks that can help you make better soaps in the future.
A lot of beginners just learn the basic steps and ingredients that they need in soap making and try to figure things out themselves. This is quite hard to do as you will need rather exact ingredients in order to make a good type of soap. It will take a long time for you to figure things out on your own so it is best to first learn how things are done and follow an exact recipe.
Once you have honed your soap making skills, you may try using other methods of making soap, and experimenting by changing the amount and type of ingredients that you use. This way, you will be able to come up with soaps that have the exact properties that you want it to have.
More advanced soap makers may want to try making soaps with simpler designs such as experimenting with the color of their soap, or using molds to give a great shape to your soap. Using knives to sculpt your soap while it is still relatively soft can give your soap a better, more personalized design.
Changing the way you put in your coloring dye is also a good way to add designs to your soap. You don't have to just dump in your soap, stir it until the soap becomes homogenous. You can try pouring it in and slowly mixing the mixture. Don't let the dye mix in completely so that the soap can harden with a marbled or tie dye effect.
The same way you made clay models when you were younger, you may also do the same way with soap except that it will be a lot more complicated. Have you tried making food items with soap? You can make separate soap mixtures and then combine them in order to make a bigger soap with a much better overall design. Aside from food items, you may also try making animal sculptures, vehicles and any other thing that you can think of.
Using special ingredients may also help you in designing your soap. The use of herbal extracts and leaves themselves will be a great addition for soaps that will be used for designing purposes. You may also put in soaps within soaps that have a transparent shade so that its contents may be seen.
You can choose to use a few or most of these tips and tricks within your soap. Just be sure that you don't go over the top and end up with a soap that looks messy instead of something that you would like to put in your bathroom. The key to making great soaps is using great techniques but still keeping designs simple.
